December 27 to January 2 - New Year's in Taipei, Taiwan  -  After a bit of time off from Rotary through a busy Christmas season with family,  we are off for a New Year's adventure to Taipei, Taiwan.   Thanks to a linkage made through our own District's Rotary Club of Vancouver Centennial, we have been connected with Rotarians in Taipei and have a planned visit to the Rotary Club of Taipei - Yungfu.   Visiting a Rotary Club in another country is always a great thing to do, but this visit turns out to be quite extraordinary!

As has happened before, we are welcomed like family as we are met at the airport by a group from the club and driven to our hotel.   Over the next few days we are toured around by various Rotarians, to several places that we would never have found on our own, and spend some very special moments.   On New Year's eve, the club hosts a dinner at one of their member's homes -  just a block from the centre of the celebrations - and the fireworks at midnight, shooting from Taipei 101,  are spectacular (we welcome the New Year in 16 hours before Vancouver!)

And yes, we do a club visit to the Rotary Club of Taipei - Yungfu at their regular Friday, December 29 meeting and enjoy the club meeting - including the singing together of Auld Lang Syne!   The Rotary Club of Taipei - Yungfu has 48 members - all women! What a delightful visit we had and we just cannot thank everyone there enough.
