Wednesday, November 15 - Another early start, this time to the Rotary Club of Vancouver Sunrise which meets at the Coal Harbour Community Centre. Their breakfast is supplied by a community caterer from the Downtown East Side so they are supporting the community even through their breakfast! President Alfredo Carrete presides, and it is also delightful to present Ted MacCormac with a Paul Harris in recognition of his continuing support of the Rotary Foundation.
This club is active in youth, and is sponsor of the Interact Club at King George High School, as well as raising funds for youth in the Strathcona area through their unique Hoop a Thon fundraiser. The Hoop a Thon is "shooting' to make a difference for kids both on and off the court, and next years is planned for April 28, 2018!
Internationally this club has worked with Project Amigo for some years and also support schools in South Africa.
