Thursday, November 2nd -  We visit a second club on this day, the Rotary Club of Vancouver Yaletown.  This club meets after work at a university in the Yaletown area for its regular meetings, going for dinner after is optional for those who wish to join in. President Lejla Uzicanin presides over the meeting, and it is wonderful to see Honorary member Linda Murray there with the club she helped found (in 2009).

The club has its goals well laid out, and has just held its unique Halloween Bowling night fundraiser, and  the annual Candytown Christmas event with Yaletown merchants is just ahead.   The club  is a sustaining club in supporting The Rotary Foundation and is working on a new major project in Kenya to provide Water Harvesting - a smart and sustainable approach to providing clean water on an ongoing basis to a community by collecting and storing rainwater, including training the locals to operate and manage the system.

The club also supports an active Community Rotaract club and sponsors students to RYLA each year.   It also works with Seymour School and has a couple of active literacy (reading) projects both locally and overseas in Bangladesh. They also participate in an annual shoreline cleanup project.

We join club members after the meeting for a delightful dinner at Frankie's to end off a great day.
