Wednesday, October 11 - The Rotary Club of Richmond is our club visit today,  and we join President James Hsieh at their meeting place,  the Hilton in Richmond, BC.   This is a club that has re-invented itself and has had a significantgrowth over the past year, after suffering a decline that was concerning to the members.   Now they are alive and well and have added five new members already this Rotary year and have more in the immediate pipeline - well done Rotary Club of Richmond!

Recently this club, along with the Richmond Sunset club, participated in the Chinese Disabled Peoples Performing Arts show at the River Rock Theatre and collectively raised $10,000 towards the End Polio Now campaign - well done!   The Rotary Club of Richmond also actively supports many local projects including the Richmond Hospice House, the Christmas Fund and recently were donated a collection of surplus rattan furniture which they turned into a donation for Wildfire relief.   They are active in youth support, with Interact at Cambie Secondary School and scholarships, as well as supporting RYLA and the Adventures programs.   Their major fundraiser is coming in February 2018 as they celebrate Chinese New Year's - 2018 will be the year of the Dog.
