Thursday, October 26 -  A busy day is rounded out with a dinner meeting visit to the Rotary Club of New Westminster. This club is celebrating 90 years of service this Rotary Year, and a major celebration event is set for February 2018.   We meet with the club board prior to the meeting, and then President Richard Prill presides over the dinner meeting.  A major topic and good discussion at this session is around membership.  The club is exploring new changes and is now meeting three times at lunch and one time at dinner each month.

The Rotary Club of New Westminster had a major project to erect a high rise Rotary Tower as seniors housing in the community almost 50 years ago - and it remains an active landmark serving the community today.  It has also been consistently active with Youth Exchange as well as other youth activities, and is co sponsor of New Westminster Interact and Rotaract clubs.  They have also provided wheelchairs for the Queens Park Health Care Centre,  partnered with Douglas College on annual community eye clinics, and support the Royal City Musical Theatre each year.

Internationally, the New Westminster Rotary Club is active with Rotary World Help and also with Hearing and Water projects in Uganda, eye and general health programs in Vietnam, and support work in the Philippines.
