2025 District 5040 Conference

Welcome to the magic of Richmond, BC, the fun-loving, Island City at the mouth of the Fraser River, where near meets far, river meets ocean, and all peoples meet together.

Let's meet together in Richmond next April!

In addition to the conference there's lots to do. Check out:

Did You Know - Latest News from Conference Committee
We are very pleased to feature two paintings that have been donated to the conference.

By Ulf K Ottho, a friend of our District Govenor Drew Antrobus.   The scene might look familiar as it's the picture on our conference postcard that was taken by DG Drew.

It's 4 ft by 3 ft in size, a large painting, acrylic on canvas, and framed.

Approximate worth is $2500

Princess Chieko

This is a "giclee print," a high quality, high resolution, and fade resistant inkjet printing process. On canvas.  32 in by 48 in.

It involves utilizing specialized printer's archival quality inks and HDR pigments to create fine art prints with exceptional colour accuracy and promises 200 years color fading resistance.  The same material is used in prints of Picasso, Monet, etc.

Approximate worth is $2500

This painting is by Karissa Narukami, a young Canadian with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She would have been a special guest at our conference except she has an art exhibit on the same weekend as the conference.  This particular piece is one of many works of art that have been sent to the moon as part of the Lunar Codex for preservation and posterity.  For more information, please check lunarcodex.com and karissanarukami.ca.

Look for the paintings at the conference. We are unsure about raffling or auctioning them off. Let us know your preference.

We are pleased to announce Rotarian Dr. Danilo (Danny) Salcedo, of Deva Dental Clinic in New Westminster, BC, in conjunction with Caring Hearts Dentistry Society has joined us as a Silver Sponsor of the 2025 District Conference.

Danny is a shining example of how Rotarians find ways to empower communities near and far through their vocations.

Bringing our community together for the 2025 Rotary District Conference at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond is a big deal and it couldn't happen without community partners such as Tourism Richmond.

While Rotarians all over our District are empowering communities near and far, Tourism Richmond is empowering District 5040 to create community magic in Richmond. We are honoured to have been selected to receive a Business Development Grant from Tourism Richmond.

The amazing thing about this grant is that the funds will grow larger with every room booked by Rotarians at the River Rock Casino Resort during our Conference weekend. Now that's something we can all celebrate!

Have you booked your accommodation yet?
What are the magic ingredients to hosting an environmentally sustainable conference? Innovation, determination, and a solid sustainability plan are key to reducing our environmental impact.

Our conference program and speaker notes will be digital, reducing our carbon footprint. Our Rotary Conference web site is an excellent example.

Soon, our 2024/2025 District Governor Drew Antrobus will be coming to invite you personally to Celebrate the Magic of Rotary and Beyond next April at our District Conference in Richmond, B.C.  Our invitation is a postcard which may look and feel like it is made of regular cardstock, but it is actually made of leftover, previously unharvestable hay!

This hay is typically burned in the field after harvest time, causing air pollution in grain growing areas.

We are happy to have found this ideal solution for continuing District 5040's time honoured District Conference “invitation by postcard” tradition while embracing Rotary's important commitment to environmental sustainability
Your 2025 Conference Committee is hard at work and doing our best to make the 2025 edition an exciting and great experience for everyone. Our vision is to structure the conference as follows:

  • Friday - Local Projects
  • Saturday - International Projects
  • Sunday - Self Enrichment and Youth
Of course things may change. Speaker and group availabity could have an impact. We will post the most up to date information on this site.

Please return frequently for the latest on what's going on for the District 5040 District Conference.

Thanks Conference 2025 Sponsors
