District Governor Lyn Stroshin and Alex Stroshin
 
Lyn joined the Rotary club of Whistler Millennium in 2000 when her daughter, a RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) student, introduced her to Rotary. She then joined the RYE committee and before she knew it she was the District 5040 RYE Chair for the years 2003 to 2006. In 2005 her district, District 5040 received the Outstanding District Award from the USA/Canada Rotary Youth Exchange Network.
 
Lyn was president of the Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium in 2007/8.  In 2007 she was asked to join the NAYEN (North American Youth Exchange Network) board as the director for the Independent Canadian districts which she did until 2013. Both Lyn and her husband Alex attend the ISFR (International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians) ski week every year. She is the secretary of the Davis Boyd Memorial Fund which raises money for adaptive sports programs.
 
Lyn became a District 5040 board director in 2011. She is a graduate of RLI and currently is a facilitator. Lyn is a multiple Paul Harris fellow and belongs to the Paul Harris Society. Last year Lyn and Alex had a fabulous trip to Ethiopia and Uganda to participate in a NID for Polio and to work on many service projects .
 
Lyn has been very involved in her community and served on the Whistler Community Foundation Board as well as the Whistler Community Services board.
 
Lyn has a Masters of Educational Practice and is certified by the Chopra University as a Vedic Master. She is currently taking a leave of absence in her DG year from the Chopra Addiction and Wellness Centre where she is their lead educator.
 
Lyn and Alex have four wonderful grown children and are extremely excited about becoming grandparents in January 2017!
