Winners in the 1940-49 and 1950-59 divisions of Pender Harbour club's 13th Annual Show & Shine event
 
We are known for:
  • Since its founding in 2002, this club of now 22 has raised $408,405 for the local community, including $167,600 for local artists
  • 13th Annual Show & Shine held at the Royal Canadian Legion branch
  • partnered with the local Coasters Car Club which got the word out, and also supplied the legion with a ongoing big screen video presentation of past car shows and rod runs.
  • largest turnout ever of 91 entries, despite intermittent rain
  • Legion sold food and beverages and ticket sales for a meat draw and provided a local singer for entertainment
  • hundreds of people attended
  • our Rotary club raised over $5,000, thru a hamburger & hot dog barbecue stand, registrations and 50/50 draw
  • awards where sponsored by local businesses
  • the funds raised will go to youth leadership.
  • For this and other events we produce a 1/4 page advertisement for the newspaper and 8 1/2" x 11" posters and hand outs
  • the local radio station ran some space for us, and we had large signage on the highway to help remind people of the new location.
 
Our Goals for 2016-17:
  • We have 2 outgoing exchange students to Brazil & Mexico, and 2 incoming from Spain and Brazil.
Events:
  • Our next event will be our annual Art Auction in November. This year we will be trying to include more donations of services, such as dinners, tours, contractors, to round out our auction items. Mike Price is our coordinator megawaterchief@gmail.com
