Rotary Club of
Whistler Millennium
Since March 1, 2000
25 members

We are known for:
  • Very active in Youth projects
  • YEX: third consecutive year of Youth Exchange
  • INTERACT: Interact Club of Whistler was chartered this year
  • RYLA: send 2 students to RYLA each year. We are hoping to increase this in the new Rotary year and expand to RYLA North to allow the younger kids to benefit.
Our Goals for 2016-17:
  • We are looking for a local community project to focus our fundraising on, preferably youth based. We have been working with Whistler Community Services on contributing to a youth program that could benefit from Rotary's donation
  • Grants
  • Charitable Status
  • International project
Events:
  • June 25th DG Installation– we are Fortunate to have the incoming District Govenor Lyn Stroshin as a valued club member. We celebrate her Installation in true Whistler fashion.
  • July 1st Canada Day Parade – we kick start the new Rotary year with fun and fellowship. We have a float in the Whistler Parade. Pic attached.
  • July 24th – IRONMAN Volunteer aid station.
  • September 24th – Rotary Brandywine Boogie Trail Run. Second annual 11.5km Trail run

Projects:
Sewing Machines for Namuwongo, Kampala, Uganda. Working with the Rotary Club of Muyenga, Uganda, we established what the community said they needed. We have worked with this cub in the past for Micro Loans and want to continue the relationship.

Members recognized:
Brian Brown – his passion for Rotary and the amount of time he contributes, especially at Christmas time when he IS SANTA. This year Brian raised funds for Youth projects. Brian is a Charter member of our club and has been a Rotarian for many years.
