If you are looking for an opportunity to be involved in an international hands on project then this may be the perfect opportunity.

Many of you might be aware that the Rotary Institute for Past District Governors is being held at the Bayshore in Vancouver from October 17-21, 2012.  The attendees are enthusiastic about our service project “Backpacks for Kids” which will provide backpacks for 80 children living at the Boys’ and Girls’ Orphanages in Bacolod City in the Philippines .

Each of the attendees is being asked to bring school supplies, toys or clothing which will be used to stuff the backpacks.  Following the conference, Elena Agala has organized a trip to the Philippines for Rotarians and spouses interested in visiting the orphanages, doing a hands-on project and visiting neighbouring islands.

Through Elena’s contacts, we have created a 10-day trip to the Philippines including airfare, transportation, most meals and hotel accommodation for $2,150 US, double occupancy.  This is a fabulous deal.

At the present time, the trip has not been fully subscribed by the conference attendees; so, we are offering the opportunity to join this adventure to RWHN members and local Rotarians after August 15th.   Participation will be on a first-come first-served basis as the group size is limited to 20.

If you are interested, please contact Elena Agala or PDG Mary Watson to get more details.
