Five of seven members inducted into Rotary Club of Richmond's new Satellite Club, plus one Richmond Rotaract new member (photo). Here are many of the other achievements and activities of some of our clubs in Rotary District 5040 in the past month.

Some recent achievements and activities in District 5040 clubs as reported by Assistant Governors for September and October 2025. There is much more planning and other activity in clubs, but these are current results, projects completed. Network with other clubs for ideas and stay tuned for future reports. Burnaby
Participated in the annual Pancake Breakfast with strong member involvement.
Two new members were inducted.

Burnaby Deer Lake
Supported the Festival of Lights at City of Lougheed Mall, including installation, maintenance, and takedown of trees and decorations.
Hosted a Santa’s Breakfast at a local elementary school, serving over 400 students, staff, and family members, followed by a festive fellowship potluck.

Burnaby Rotaract
Volunteered with Rotary World Help during container loading.
Supported Santa’s Breakfast events at two Burnaby schools.
Organized and supported community and fellowship activities, including a tree lighting at Lougheed Mall and a joint Christmas celebration.
Demonstrated strong collaboration with Burnaby and Deer Lake Rotary Clubs through hands-on service and event support.

Gibsons 
The club made a donation of US$1,750 to the ECOroller (formerly Hippo Roller) program in South Africa – a program which the club has been championing over many recent years.
Donations of $2000 went to each of St Barts and Salvation Army food banks.

Ladner
The club hosted the 20th annual Christmas Dinner for the South Delta Family and Peer Support Group for neurodiverse adults and their families and guardians on December 13. 50 guests enjoyed the full course Christmas dinner and entertainment produced by 30 Rotarians, family and friends who organized, purchase, prepared and served the meal at the Ladner Community Centre.
The club donated $2,000 to Deltassist to help sponsor the annual Christmas Hampers program for, this year, 550 families and seniors in Delta not able to afford a special meal to celebrate Christmas the holiday season. A member picked up food from drives at schools and other organizations along with many other volunteers who purchased food, packed boxes – two to three per household – then eight RC Ladner members and friends delivered some of the hampers on December 20.

New Westminster
Welcomed a new member.
Volunteered bell-ringing services and raised over $800 for The Salvation Army.

Pender Harbour 
December 3rd we put up our Christmas Santas and decorated the community hall with lights.

Powell River 
The club sponsored the Santa Claus Parade on November 30.
The Breakfast with Santa Fundraiser was held on December 20

Prince George Area
In November the Quad Club Foundation Dinner, among the four clubs, was held and raised $3,260. Each Rotarian who attended has received a $112 donation to the Rotary Foundation. 
Three PG Clubs participated in the Festival of Trees decorating 2 trees with one of them being auctioned off for $7,000 and the other given to a family whose child was in the NICU ward
Rotary clubs held Christmas events and participated in Operation Red Nose, Salvation Army Kettles, Meals on Wheels, School Breakfast programs.

Regal Rotaract
Advanced multiple innovation and social enterprise initiatives, including Restiched (ESG and sustainability platform), GET Global Entrepreneurship Training (formerly GEE), and Immigration Connections, with curriculum finalized for January 2026 launch.
Continued development of member-led ventures (Hello Heritage, Sugar Shak, NAXY) and expanded international collaboration with partners in Bali, Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Continued investment in digital infrastructure and the Regal Club website.

Quesnel
Hosted 80+ players at the Christmas Super Bingo, raising $1500.

Richmond Sunset
The club held a Christmas social on December 3 for club members, members of RC Richmond, friends and volunteers with proceeds from auctioned items going to End Polio.
Seven groups gave matinee performances at Richmond City Hall on December 6 and 13 as part of the club’s major annual event, Winter Wonderland, which Rotarians, family and friends attended.

Squamish
Presented the Hilltop House with $10,000 and the Rotary project, Adopt a Village Laos, with $3,000

Sunshine Coast 
Delivered to local schools, for needy families, 50 Christmas food packages,  each having goods worth about $125, with support of a District Grant.
Distributed clothes and accessories, as well as money and gift certificates, to all seven women who currently live in a local women's shelter.  
Hosted drop-in at the Sechelt Seniors Centre, during which we provide food, companionship, some entertainment, games and activities, gift wrapping services, etc. over the Christmas period when the Centre is closed to regular activities. Interactors participate in this activity.
 

Vancouver Cambie
Coordinated Santa Photo fundraising events across Kitsilano, Coquitlam, and North Vancouver in collaboration with Rotary Clubs of Vancouver Arbutus and Lions Gate. Raised a total of $8,212, engaged 308 participants, and generated interest from 35 individuals regarding Rotary membership.
Demonstrated effective inter-club collaboration, strong community engagement, and increased Rotary visibility through a family-focused fundraising initiative.

Whistler
Received an additional $10,000 grant from the Whistler/Blackcomb Foundation for creating History of Rotary in Whistler interpretive signs to be installed in the new Rotary Bike Park Plaza.

Whistler Interact
The Whistler Interact Club raised $1,000 with their hand designed Christmas Cards.

Whistler Millennium 
Sold out the 70 Christmas Trees fundraiser.
Club members provided Santa and Elves for 10 Hotel and Corporate Events.

Williams Lake
The club hosted a small business Christmas Party which 160 people attended, planned to become an annual event
