Developing the skills and knowledge of Rotarians improves the effectiveness of clubs and our District 5040 in supporting Rotary’s goals and commitment to build communities and improve lives across the world.

To enhance leadership and improve performance which rewards us all at the end of the day, our Rotary District 5040 is taking learning and development to a new level in District 5040 with a District training committee, called “District Learning and Development Committee” to oversee training in the district and plan and conduct education and training events for all Rotarians.
The goal of the Learning and Development Committee, lead by Past District Governor Penny Offer, is to strengthen Rotary clubs through quality learning and development opportunities designed to meet the needs of all Rotarians.

In the words of Rotary International Past President Robert Barth in 1994: “The more you know about Rotary, the better you can serve. And you can never know too much about Rotary.”

To promote all the existing and new educational opportunities throughout District 5040 a new wordmark (logo) has been established and will appear in all related programs.

You will see this wordmark associated with these training programs in the coming months:
  • Presidents Elect Training (PETS);
  • The Rotary Foundation - Putting it to work for you (formerly Grant Management Seminar);
  • Priority #1 Plus Membership;
  • Rotary Leadership Institute;
  • District Team Development 2019-20;
  • Webinars;
  • Our Year Ahead 2019-20 (formerly District Assembly).
