Friday, May 11 - Rotary Club of Richmond Sunrise Gala and Auction - It has certainly been a very busy day of Rotary today! We are awed as we arrive at the Riverside Ballroom in Richmond at the huge participation in the 30th Annual Richmond Sunrise Gala and Charity Auction. More than 400 people have come together for the evening; theme is Return to Bollywood.
President Heather Harrison provides a nice overview of Rotary. The amount of donated items is amazing, and the bidding does very well for the club and it's chosen charity for the evening, the Richmond Society for Community Living. A great buffet dinner is enjoyed, and then MC Fred Lee does his magic making the time go by quickly while deftly raising lots of money for the cause. He is awarded a Paul Harris Fellow by the club for his efforts on their behalf over many years. A great evening, colourful outfits, fine food and fundraising excitement - a real winner of an event.
