Thursday, November 23  - An early start as we visit the Rotary Club of West Vancouver Sunrise.  They have a nice meeting spot at the Capilano Golf Club, and President and PDG Ken Wilson presides over an active meeting with good attendance.   We are pleased to award a Paul Harris + 2 to member Karen Harrison.

This club's major focus is its annual Ride for Rescue - a bike ride up Cypress Mountain with the majority of proceeds going to North Shore Rescue.  They are also very well integrated in their community, active with the Chamber of Commerce, the West Vancouver Community Foundation and other community organizations, and a sponsor of the Rock Ambleside music events each year.   Operation Red Nose is also a part of the club's history over many years, as is the community Senior's Lunch each year.

The club is also active with youth, and sponsor of the Interact Club at Rockridge School, and participate with the West Van Police in the Pulling Together Canoe Journey.   Internationally, the club is active in Guatemala with a safe water filters projects for Guatemalan schools, and also with Health for Humanity's Annual surgical missions.   Shelterbox is also supported through this club, and the club is home for Shelterbox Canada Ambassador Christopher Loat.
