Wednesday, October 25 - We make our way in the early morning to meet with the Rotary Club of New Westminster - Royal City. The venue is The Boathouse Restaurant and we have a good meeting with President Aman Grewal and his club. We are very pleased to participate with the induction of a new member, Christiane Basilio.
The Royal City Club is active and works together with the New Westminster club on many projects, including the stunning sculpture Daddy - Wait for Me on the main plaza at Columbia and 8th. Major fundraisers include the "Pot of Gold Golf Tournament" and as a participant in "To The Heart of the Matter" which is held in February at the Inn on the Quay.
Active in the community, Rotary in New Westminster has high visibility in the annual Hyack Days Parade and Santa Parade, and works to maintain a literacy box at New Westminster Family Place as well as supporting a hot lunch program at the Secondary School.
