The Rotary Peace Garden project, which Rotary International President 2022-23 Jennifer Jones launched at Garden City Park in Richmond last year is one of the causes supported by the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset's 22nd Annual Winter Wonderland at Richmond City Hall on display throughout December. Proceeds from the project, launched on December 2nd, are expected to reach $50,000 or more and will support Rotary sponsored Interact clubs at Hugh Boyd and Steveston-London Secondary schools, scholarships at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Richmond Christmas Fund and The Rotary Foundation, plus an endowment fund which focuses on one of Rotary's seven Areas of Focus, maternal and child health.
 
At Richmond Sunset Rotary's December 2nd launch event, Richmond Mayor Malcom Brodie and Councillors Chak Au, Andy Hobbs, Alexa Loo, Bill McNulty, Member of Parliament Wilson Miao and Member of the Legislative Assembly Teresa Wat joined District 5040 Governor Shirley-Pat Chamberlain in bringing greetings.
 
 
The Christmas festivity included a catered reception, carol singing, thanks to Mayor Brodie on the piano, and a display of decorated, sponsored Christmas trees indoors and many more live trees outdoors which will be planted later in local parks.
 
 
Winter Wonderland is on display in the Richmond City Hall Plaza throughout December. The Event Sponsor is Aspac Developments and Concord Pacific is Gold Sponsor, with 21 companies and individuals also sponsoring, with Richmond News and City of Richmond.
