On November 19th, we held a successful Rotaract District 5040 Training Day at the Burnaby Neighborhood House. 40 Rotaractors and Rotarians gathered for a day of learning, sharing, and fun! Our day included inspiring speeches from District Rotaract Chair (DRC) Joan Posivy and DG Don Evans; a team-building challenge making stools out of only newspaper and masking tape; an "Ask a Rotarian" panel; breakout sessions on projects, membership, marketing & PR, and club positions; and also a presentation on all the opportunities available via Rotaract and Rotary!
Now we are heading into a busy pre-holiday schedule. On December 2nd, the Rotaractors will help at the District Interact Conference at Hugh Boyd Secondary School in Richmond. This upcoming Sunday (December 3rd), we invite all Rotaractors and Rotarians to join us for a fun Laser Tag afternoon in New Westminster. This will be a great opportunity to get to know your local Rotaractors! Check out the Facebook event for more details: www.facebook.com/events/131204207552862/

On the club level there are several great projects and events coming up. Whether you look at the North Shore Rotaractors, who will support the Salvation Army this December, the Prince George Club, which has teamed up with Interact to provide filled backpacks for the homeless, or the Burnaby Club, that is having a Christmas Cookie Bake Sale to support the Burnaby Neighborhood House and an international volunteer trip to Guatemala next year: Each of our clubs is working hard to give back to our communities this Christmas season.

As a friendly reminder Rotarians are always welcome to join us at our Club meetings. If you are interested in getting to know your local Rotaractors, but aren´t sure who the right contact person would be, please get in touch with our DRR Johanna (drr@rotaract5040.org) who can point you in the right direction.“
