Our Rotaract clubs are always happy to assist Rotary clubs with their projects. In October, the Vancouver Young Professionals Rotaract Club helped the Rotary Club of Vancouver with the Oktoberfest fundraiser for youth programs. The Yaletown Rotaract Club participated in the Rotary Club of Vancouver Yaletown's Bowling for Kenya fundraiser supporting their Water Harvesting Project. The Prince George Rotaract Club assisted the Rotary Club of Prince George - Downtown with their Big Blue Ball event that supports men's health and local prostate cancer programs.

International opportunities are what make Rotaract (and Rotary) unique! In October, DRR, Johanna travelled to Europe where she represented D. 5040 and Canada on the Hungarian Rotaract Roundtrip (like our PACE trip but in Hungary) and at the Rotaract European Meeting (REM) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Also on an international note, the Burnaby Rotaract Club participated in World Polio Day Project in collaboration with 33 Rotaract Clubs from 12 different countries and 2 Rotaract Districts at their Thanksgiving Community Dinner, where the club cooked over 80 pounds of turkey for 60 hungry guests.

Want to learn more about Rotaract?! You are encouraged to attend the upcoming District Training on November 19, 2017 at the Burnaby Neighbourhood House from 9:30am to 4:00pm. If you want to attend and/or participate on our Rotary panel, where all things Rotary and Rotaract will be discussed, you are encouraged to contact DRR, Johanna at drr@rotaract5040.org.

The aim of the day's sessions is for all Rotaractors in our district to discover the many opportunities available to them through Rotary and Rotaract, discuss best practices in Rotaract and building connections with Rotary, as well as fostering cross-club friendships!

*Note* the previously mentioned Joint 5040/5050 Rotaract District Training was postponed until 2018."

Please stay tuned for exciting Rotaract organized events and fundraisers!
