Fellow District 5040 members, I hope you are all well and enjoying the changing season as the leaves change.

It has been an absolute pleasure to visit clubs and see the amazing work of our Rotary Family. The many hundreds of kilometres on the road and multiple ferry rides have all been worth it on feeling the joy and true inspiration I experienced in reaching my various destinations, to hear the "brags" about our District and about the Interactors raising funds to support girls' education in Bangladesh, and installing eight new members in a single club and five in another.
Then there's the other amazing work in our clubs, from basic education and caring for seniors to a successful quarter million dollar global grant for the first ever Rotary led gravity based water system in Uganda.
I am so impressed with the innovation and ideas that are bubbling up in clubs to deal with challenges of membership, from purpose based satellite clubs ideas focused on the environment to gratitude and appreciation events for our friends of Rotary and all those who sponsor and support our service locally and around the world.
From my heart to yours - sechanalyagh gulin - for all you do to make our world a better place full of hope that are the seeds to grow peace.
Also, please check out the amazing opportunity brought to you by Write to Read BC leader PDG Bob Blacker via Honouring Indigenous People as we are hosting the Youth to Youth initiative in BC next year. Check out the poster for more info and reach out to PDG Bob or myself if you have a youth who you think would benefit from this life changing experience.
Keep up the Awesome,
Shirley-Pat Chamberlain
