Awards and Recognition
District 5040 is proud to recognize those clubs and individuals who have made great contributions to their community and the world through Rotary. The District presents several types of awards as shown below. Please refer to the links below for additional information.
Rotary Club of the Year
Recognizes the club that has performed in the highest traditions of Rotary during the previous year. The Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year will demonstrate high achievement as an effective Rotary club.
The District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year Award is a large cloth banner that the club may display for one year. The banner has the Rotary wheel and the words "District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year". The name of the club, the name of the club president and year of presentation will be embroidered on the banner. The award will be presented by the District Governor at the District 5040 annual conference.

Rotarian of the Year
The award recognizes District 5040 Rotarians who, through their Rotary service, have made the community locally and internationally a better place to live and work and have made significant contributions to Rotary and the community in the form of leadership or in the advancement of ideas and service. The District 5040 Rotarian of the Year Award may be presented to any Rotarian (other than honorary member) who has been a member of a Rotary club in District 5040 for at least three years.

Don Evans People of Action Awards
The Don Evans People of Action Awards are presented to Rotarians in District 5040 who take action to create lasting change in their communities and the world. They are The Don Evans People of Action Awards typically will be presented annually by the District Governor at the District Conference to approximately 10 individuals.
Public Image Award
The Rotary District 5040 Public Image Award recognizes a club demonstrating leading management and skills in building Public Image and practicing effective Public Relations. With permission of entrants, winning entries may be used as models for other clubs. Entries may include management of Public Image and Public Relations for your club overall or for a specific project for which there were measurable results completed in the period April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 (program or project could have started prior to that period).
Membership Awards
Rotary District 5040 recognizes those clubs who make a significant increase in their membership over the Rotary Year. Since membership and membersip retention are so important for a vibrant club there are several categories of award:
- Highest % of Growth.
- Highest number of new members.
- Highest % Growth of female members.
- Most members under 40.
- Clubs with all members data entered into Rotary Club Central.
Comunity Service Awards
Rotarians and clubs in our District who received provincial and local community awards and recognition for their dedication towards Community Service.
