The Rotary District 5040 Awards recognize some of the many significant contributions that are quietly and selflessly being made by dedicated Rotarians and their Clubs. 
 
To shine a spotlight on achievements of clubs in various categories and individual members your nominations are needed. 
 
Recognition is important, but we can all learn from the entries of the award recipients.
 
In the absence of a District Conference in 2025-26 District Awards will be presented to clubs or members at the Installation of District Governor Elect Dean Hsieh in Richmond, on Saturday, June 27, 2026 or at other Area and club events
 
This prestigious award celebrates the club that has shown exceptional dedication, innovative projects, and impactful community engagement throughout the Rotary year. The criteria for this award encompass a range of achievements, including membership growth, public image, service projects, and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. The award is designed to encourage clubs to strive for excellence in all their activities and to recognize the collective efforts of their members. The District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year Award is a large cloth banner that the club may display for one year. The banner has the Rotary wheel and the words "District 5040 Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year". The "Rotarian of the Year" award honors a D5040 Rotarian who exemplifies Service Above Self adheres to the Four-Way Test and significantly contributes to the club's mission, operations, and community or international service. The recipient should demonstrate exceptional commitment through daily activities, major initiatives, or multiple committee roles, as well as extensive involvement at both club and district levels, showcasing leadership, dedication to service, and effective fundraising. The Don Evans People of Action Award recognize Rotary and Rotaract members for outstanding work in one or more of Rotary’s five Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and Youth Service. The Rotary Public Image Award is a prestigious honor bestowed upon Rotary clubs or individual Rotarians who have made significant contributions to enhancing the public image of Rotary. This award recognizes the efforts to portray Rotary as a dynamic and impactful organization that serves communities worldwide. Public Image Award 
Membership Awards
The District presents Membership Awards to clubs based on performance recorded by clubs and Rotary International during the current Rotary year. They will be announced and presented to clubs achieving best performance in different categories.

Foundation Awards

Rotary International presents the Foundation Awards to clubs every year based on clubs' having achieved certain standards set by RI. 

District Governor Awards 

The current District Governor presents these awards to individual members or clubs for outstanding service or achievement during the Rotary years and may vary from year to year.
