Rotarian of the Year

The "Rotarian of the Year" award honors a D5040 Rotarian who exemplifies "Service Above Self," adheres to the Four-Way Test, and significantly contributes to the club's mission, operations, and community or international service. The recipient should demonstrate exceptional commitment through daily activities, major initiatives, or multiple committee roles, as well as extensive involvement at both club and district levels, showcasing leadership, dedication to service, and effective fundraising.

Evaluation Criteria
·       Club Membership and Attendance: The nominee should have been a Rotary Club member for at least one full year, be in good standing with current dues, and maintain active membership status. Honorary members, special members, or those on a leave of absence are not eligible.
·       Service Contributions: The nominee should demonstrate service in their daily activities and promote Rotary through their actions and involvement. This can be shown through one major activity in club service or participation in several committees.
·       Rotary Club Involvement: The nominee should participate in service projects undertaken by the club, get involved in fundraising projects initiated by the club, engage in additional club activities like social events, and contribute to the day-to-day workings of the club.
·       Leadership and Recruitment: The nominee should attend District level training, hold an office, serve on the Board of Directors, or work on a committee for the club, and take on active leadership roles within the club.
·       District and/or RI Involvement: The nominee should work on a District level committee or hold a District office and participate in or facilitate a District or RI program.
·       Community Service and Projects: The nominee should initiate or participate in projects that impact the community, organize community events, lead charitable initiatives, and foster partnerships with local organizations.
·       Fundraising Efforts: The nominee should play a pivotal role in the club's fundraising efforts, contributing to the financial stability and growth of the club, including generating ideas that result in successful campaigns supporting the club's missions and objectives.

The nomination recognizes that the nominee does not need to fulfill all the above criteria for this award; significant District or Rotary International involvement is key. In summary, the nominee's extensive involvement at both the club and District levels, along with their leadership, commitment to community service, and effective fundraising efforts, qualify them as a suitable candidate for the D5040 "Rotarian of the Year" award.
